The perfectionist sits,
Her eyebrows ever furrowed,
Her eyes narrowed in slits,
For the assignment is due tomorrow.

Round the “o”s,
Cross the “t”s.
Neat letters strung in rows,
Remember to loop those “g”s.

Words written in just the right size,
Everything must be neat.
Spaces just wide enough no surprise,
High expectations for her to meet.

Handle every piece with care,
Avoid every possible crease.
Prevent causing a single tear,
Be careful with that, please.

Perfectionism is
The resistance in a circuit,
The bumps that stubbornly exist.
Is all that trouble really worth it?
