spiral staircase

There’s something chasing me.
I hear the thundering of footsteps,
The galloping of the cavalry,
Attackers trying to kill me.

I run down thousands of steps,
Jumping across the emerging gaps
Past the dim corridors
Towards the great big doors.

Opening the great big doors
Sunlight seeps in…

I awake at the ticking of the clock
My conscious flows in
I catch sight of my uncompleted work,
The one chasing me.
